Silver Salt (iOS app)
A light meter and shooting log for film photography. Here is how it works, and answers to common questions.
The light meter is free with no limits. Shooting logs are free for your first two rolls. From the third roll on, a one-time purchase, Unlimited Rolls, lets you record as many rolls as you like. There is no subscription.
I changed phones or reinstalled the app, and my purchase is gone.
On the screen that appears when you start a new roll, tap "Restore Purchase". You need to be signed in with the same Apple Account used for the purchase. Note that rolls and frames are stored only on your device, so they cannot be recovered after deleting the app.
The reading differs slightly from my handheld meter.
A phone camera measures light a little differently from a dedicated meter. With negative film this difference does not normally show in the final image.
I forgot to save a frame and the count no longer matches my camera.
This version cannot insert a frame in the middle of a roll. You can keep shooting; frames beyond 36 can still be saved.
My film is not in the list.
Use "Add film" on the film selection screen and enter a name, ISO, and frame count.
Does it support 120 (medium format)?
Not yet. The current version covers 135 (35mm).
